Ireland Dave
10/29/96
I had just gotten a cup of coffee and was heading towards the conference area when a man named David, of County Dublin, Ireland, came up to me. He asked, “Where did you get that coffee?” I showed David to the dining area and asked him if he wanted to talk.
David said that he felt there was some kind of connection he was to make with me. He began to share with me his desire for prayer for Ireland. He told me about the strife there and asked me if America could begin to pray for peace and reconciliation for the people of Ireland; for his countrymen to come together under the banner of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
David, about age 30, said he didn’t want to live the second part of his life void of serving and loving God. God led me to tell David about the Bible study Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby. I said that it would help him to understand Gods’ love for him; how he could show love to God and meet God where He was at work.
I shared with David some personal testimony of how God is working in my life; that all we have to offer, and what God wants from us, is our lives and all of our love. I encouraged him that he could come to a greater understanding of Gods plan for him if he would submit his life to God alone for all things. David said he felt that there was spiritual warfare going on and asked me to pray against demonic strongholds. I told David I would take his prayer requests before the Lord and that I would pray for him and Ireland.
Then David and I entered into a Spirit-filled time of prayer together. The Holy Spirit moved me to rebuke all evil and demonic influences that were attacking David. I prayed for God’s protection, wisdom, and understanding, and for Gods’ love in a special divine way for David. David then prayed for Lenore and I and how we might become part of the Lord’s plan for his life and for the reconciliation of Ireland.
Praise the Lord! God is so good; when He moves you to His calling He does the appointment-setting and gives strength and wisdom by His Holy Spirit.
