MINISTERING THE WORD OF RECONCILIATION
His Sword
A prophetic vision for the heart.
08/27/01

"I was in deep distress and feeling very sorry for myself as I sat in God's presence. I felt I had nowhere else to turn; to me all seemed at an end. Again and again I wiped the tears from my face. I was embarrassed to be weeping in a public place for all to see. I asked the Lord what I might say if someone were to stop and ask me what was wrong. He said to me, 'Tell them a friend is dying; he is having a hard time letting go, but he is holding on to Jesus for all he is worth.' I knew the friend was me.

The Lord then showed me His sword. It was brilliant, of pure white light. I knew the blade was razor sharp as He showed me one edge then the other. I could feel its sharpness on my tongue as the light came closer and closer. The sword turned twice, cutting the sign of the cross into my heart. I never felt its' cutting edge; the sharp light was enough to cut through. The love in my heart began to run down the front of me, which caused great pain as I watched it fall. The Lord began to show me things about my love. He spoke to me sternly, 'You give your love to your wife. You give your love to your daughters. You give your love to friends. You give your love to their needs. You give your love to make things pleasant and pleasing for others and yourself. You give your love to fear and doubt.' As He was speaking these things to me, He showed me a finger pushing into my heart. It was scooping out my love, like honey, and sticking it to fear, doubt, the needs of others, family, friends, self desires, self needs, self preservation, social responsibilities, what others thought of me, etc. The Lord said to me, 'You prostitute your love for Me!'

I felt in shock as I continued weeping in misery. I began to confess each offense that He brought to my mind. I asked to be forgiven on each account the Lord showed to me. He said to me, 'Do not prostitute your love for Me. Love me with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your strength, and all of your mind. I want ALL of your love; nothing less will do.' I said, 'Yes, Lord.' He then held out to me a cup, His invitation to drink. He said, 'Now drink the cup I have given to you.' I took the cup and drank in the understanding He had given to me. He said, 'If you need love for your wife, ask Me. If you need love for your daughters, ask Me. If you need love for others, ask Me. If you need love for yourself, ask Me, for I am love and what I have is yours. I will pour out My love upon you and through you. Do not give your love to other gods, for I will not have other gods before Me.' He continued, 'There is power in My love, not your love. I change lives with My love; you change nothing with your love. Your love is like a greeting card; it does not change life forever, it fades away. Ask Me for My love and I will give it to you. You must give My love to those I lead you to. Nothing changes without Me. Love Me and I will give you the power to love others through Me.'"

I have found that it is one thing to say that I love the Lord Jesus and quite another to abide in His love. Jesus said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all they mind. This is the first and great commandment" (Matthew 22:37-38). Now I have a deeper meaning of the word 'ALL' which means, 'without exception.' I have also found that it is impossible for me to love my neighbor as myself without first love in Jesus Christ. Only through Love, for God is love, can I love others in pure love. God desires nothing less from me than to love through Him. I have not forgotten His invitation to drink in and give out His love, and I pray that all who read this will know more of His marvelous love.
