MINISTERING THE WORD OF RECONCILIATION
Line of Fire
10/30/00

After an evening conference speaker was finished ministering to the group, he encouraged us to separate and to find a place to pray and seek the Lord Jesus. During my quiet time before the Lord, I had a vision:

I saw a tall, mature tree in a small clearing surrounded by a forest; it was the autumn of the year. A sharp line of fire went from the base of the tree to the top along the main trunk. The fire moved quickly around the entire trunk of the tree (base to top) in a circular motion, removing the bark of the tree as it went up. The fire burned out after one complete revolution. All the bark was gone, but there were no traces of burn marks from the fire. I looked up at the canopy of golden leaves and all at once they began to fall to the ground. As I looked at the tree again it stood completely bare and uncovered; at its base the golden leaves covered the ground.

I asked the Lord to help me understand this vision:

A new season had come upon the tree and the old growth had to leave. In order for the new life to form, the old life had to release its’ hold on the tree. The removal of the bark or skin laid bare the heart of the tree, which made it vulnerable. The coming season appeared to be a trial or testing, but the hope for the tree was in standing firm, trusting in the Creators’ protection and preparation to enter the new season. The forest was witnessing the alterations to the tree and, at some later time, would understand the transformation before also entering into the new season in the same way.
